Cookie policy
We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in. No analytics cookies, no advertising.
Version 1.2 · Last updated 14 October 2026
1. In short
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Heritage Cars sets cookies only when you sign in, and only so that you stay signed in securely. We do not use analytics, advertising or social media cookies. Because these cookies are strictly necessary, the law does not require consent for them.
If we show a box from Trustpilot with our rating, it is the one optional extra: it loads only if you choose "Allow Trustpilot" in our banner, and Trustpilot may then store information in your browser under its own cookie policy. If you choose "No thanks", no Trustpilot code runs on our pages. Our "Review us on Trustpilot" buttons are ordinary links and set nothing.
2. The cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|
| sb-…-auth-token | Keeps you signed in. May be split into numbered parts (.0, .1) when large. | Until you sign out, at most 400 days |
| sb-…-auth-token-code-verifier | Protects the email confirmation and sign-in link against tampering. | Removed once sign-in completes |
Both are first-party cookies, sent only to heritage-auctions.co.uk over encrypted connections.
If you answer that banner, we remember your choice in your browser (local storage, named hc-consent) so we do not ask again on every page. It holds only your answer and the date, is never sent to us, and stays until you change it or clear your browser's data.
3. Your choices
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block these cookies you can still browse cars, but you will not be able to sign in, bid or pay. While Trustpilot's box is in use, "Cookie settings" at the bottom of our pages changes your choice. If we ever add other optional cookies, we will ask for your consent before setting them.
